Instructional Services
The Somerset ISD Instructional Services Department oversees the implementation of all state standards through integrated, research-based approaches to teaching and learning. Curriculum and instruction is designed and delivered using the following standards: 
Instructional services are systemically designed around the following priority areas: 
  • Data-driven, standards-based, and rigorous programs and services to address state and national performance expectations;
  • 21st Century teaching and learning;
  • Curriculum alignment;
  • Transformational and instructional leadership;
  • Advanced academics, dual credits, certifications, partnership, and other priorities.
The district has committed to using the Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) -- a powerful, proven model that focuses on Teacher Excellence and Student Achievement. TAP is an integrated, systems approach intended to recruit, motivate, develop and retain high-quality teachers who are supported through master and mentor teachers. This comprehensive design provides opportunities for career advancement, job-embedded professional growth, instructionally focused accountability, and competitive compensation all designed to ultimately ensure Somerset ISD's students are performing at expected levels from year to year.
