The Purchasing Department of the Somerset ISD is a part of the Finance Department and responsible for the organization and administration of the procurement functions for the District in accordance with the authority delegated by the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees. As a public entity, the Purchasing Department is bound by local, state and federal rules and regulations.
The primary function of the department is to meet the goods and services needs of the District by:
- Obtaining the best products or services at the best value to the taxpayer while complying with all Federal, State and Local laws as well as District policies and guidelines
- Continue to promote communication between all departments/campuses and purchasing personnel in order to facilitate the purchasing process and to provide good customer service.
